Bench press numbers you can understand.
Calculate estimated 1RM, percentage loads, rep references and plate combinations with tools that show the method behind the number.

Bench Press Calculator
Enter a completed set and get a transparent 1RM estimate plus reference loads. The result is an estimate, not a verified maximum.

A calculator should not be a black box.
Bench Press Calculators was built around a simple publishing principle: users should be able to see what a result means, which equation produced it, what assumptions were made and where the method has limits.
We publish the calculation logic, worked examples, review dates and source notes alongside the tools. When an equation is only an estimate, we say so rather than presenting the output as a measured fact.
Our tools are educational strength-calculation utilities. They do not diagnose, prescribe training, or replace qualified coaching or medical care.
How we keep the tools accountable
- Named formulas and source notes
- Visible assumptions and limitations
- Calculator-specific review dates
- Correction and bug-report route
- Clear distinction between estimates and measurements
Start with the evidence
Our 1RM methodology draws on published strength research and established prediction equations. Research is used to explain the method, not to imply that any one equation is universally accurate for every lifter.

What is a bench press 1RM?
A one-repetition maximum (1RM) is the maximum load a person can lift for one repetition under a defined testing protocol. A calculator estimates it from a submaximal set.
Which formula does the calculator use?
The 1RM tools calculate Epley, Brzycki, Lander, Lombardi and O’Conner estimates and show the individual values before displaying their arithmetic mean.
Are the results exact?
No. Repetition-based equations are predictive models. Their error can vary with exercise, rep range, training status, technique and how close the set was to failure.
Do you store my calculator inputs?
The calculator logic runs in the browser. The site does not need an account or a server-side calculation database for these tools.
